this is a yearly tradition for me to dedicate an article to the memmory of the attacks on the twin towers in new yoork. Though i was just a child, i understood the devastating impact that day had on the United States and all those who were there or knew people who were there. So i post the following article in their memmory. Add your own if you so choose, just remember, what you say will be remembered by me and others for years to come.
SEPTEMBBER 11, 2001, A DAY THAT WILL LIVE FOREVER
It was today, seven years ago, that the reality of the world outside hit us so hard. I was twelbe, but I was not ignorant nor was i lost in childhood pretences. I watched the news regularly and I understood most of it. Little of that day's normal events remain in my mind, blocked out by the devastating events of the day. I have never forgotten the way my parents cried and I cried and the country cried as a whole. I felt the pain of those fighting to escape the burning towers and the Pentagon. I lived the last moments with those who died on the plane that crashed in a field. I held onto all the painful events of that day, and i'll never forget that hundreds of innocent people lost their lives for no reason other than terrorism. I hold their love and pain and grief in my heart each day. Although I don't know anyone personally who was there, I have heard their stories many a time and cry each time. Remember those who lost their loved ones and those who died each day.
September 11: Its the reason for much of my anger and antagonism to believe that this was done from an outside source. Even if such would have or not occurred, the fact that htis is being used as an excuse for other cryiminal acts outside the united states and perhaps inside too is overwelming. It happened indeed, but we have to move on. I wonder why can't we then commemorate the Holocaust, the second and first world war, the death of a relative, the death of a friend, ETC. Let me guess: "The Holocaust didn't exactly happen in this country". It may have been so, but it was a terrible and more tragic event that took the lives of many others, and created a negative image on many people. The second and first world wars: Oh yes, these! I learned about them at school, though they are historical events and they occurred a long time ago. Even the Iran war.. yeah, that was part of my history class too... a final note though, "It was today, seven years ago, that the reality of the world outside hit us so hard. ". About freaking time.
i aggree totally and i do remember all those events no matter where or when they accurred. I't pains me to think that this world is so corrupt and the people are so heartless
I wonder if you commemorated the killing of the thousands of inocent people in Hiroshima? Are you thinking of the 1.2 million inocent Iraqi civilians that were killed just because your government felt like killing them?
Just a question: What is so special about the September 11th victims? Why are they more special than any other human beings that died unjustly?
The Sabra and Chatila massacre is one of the most barbarous events in recent history. Thousands of unarmed and defenseless Palestinian refugees-- old men,
women and children-- were butchered in an orgy of savage killing. On December 16, 1982 the United Nations General Assembly condemned the massacre and declared
it to be an act of genocide.
Is this just a question of you verses them? Them, being the evil, non US, Subhuman, strange people?
Let's see what the media will be saying on September 16th, this year.
Just my thought.
And yes, I do feel for the victims of september 11th, 2001 but, they're no more special than any other victims that were killed for no reason.
i will say that yes you r right and i do not forget those others, however i remember this over all cause i saw it happen
first off, very deep thoughts and I comemerate those who lost there lives and or loved ones.
Secondly, I feel sorry for those who hate others that are different then themselves. Just my thoughts. Peace.
